Makes about 3 gallons
Photographer Berta Daniels, who is a gardener and do-it-by-instinct cook, makes this cooling, citrusy homemade drink with limes, Thai basil, and lavender flowers.
|Juice of 18 limes (save 2 pieces rind)|
|2||gallons of water|
|⅛||cup fresh Thai basil, chopped|
|8||stems lavender flowers, chopped|
|2||trays ice (about 1 quart)|
|Extra fresh basil (for garnish)|
|Extra fresh lavender (for garnish)|
1. In a large pitcher, combine the lime juice, lime rind, water, sugar, basil, lavender, and ice. Stir and pour into glasses.
2. Garnish with basil and lavender.
