Zest citrus fruits on this sharp, nonstick blade

It makes perfect sense that Smith’s, a company that’s been in the knife sharpening business for more than 100 years, would know how to make a first-rate zester. With super-sharp V-shape blades, its Edgeware Zester ($15) removes the rind on citrus fruits in fine silky threads, leaving the bitter pith behind; it will also grate ginger into a puree. The zester’s curved shape makes it easy to use and the handle is comfortable to grab. A no-slip base keeps it in place while you’re working. A squeegee slides the rind off the nonstick blade into a collection container and a separate cover protects your fingers when you’re not using it.
