Spill-proof ice cube trays

Unless you’re very careful balancing the ice-cube tray, the steps from sink to freezer can be splashy . To keep water from spilling over the sides, and to keep freezer burn off, OXO has come out with a no-spill ice-cube tray ($9.99) with a gutter-like border to catch any overflow. The tray, with inserts for 14 cubes, has a flexible silicone cover that fits snugly over the top. Fill the tray with water, press the lid in place, grab the easy-grip handle, and you’re on your way to the fridge. Trays can be stacked and cubes pop out with a gentle nudge. Pass the iced tea.  Available at Kitchen Outfitters, 342 Great Road, Acton, 978-263-1955; Tags Hardware, 29 White St., Cambridge,
