The flavor, as the name suggests, is pure maple with a pleasant sweetness; the texture is like gelato. Owner Joshua Davidson sells four kinds of artisanal maple syrups, light to dark amber, made from the trees on his family’s northern Vermont farm. Maple Creme is whipped up in 5-gallon batches from the lightest syrup. Slather it on a scone, toast, or bagel, or spread it on a cracker and top with hard cheese or smoked salmon.
