Kathie’s Kitchen SuperSeedz

Once you start munching SuperSeedz from Kathie’s Kitchen ($4.99 for 6 ounces) you won’t put the bag down. These dry-roasted and shelled pumpkin seeds are flavored with natural ingredients and come in varieties like curry, super spicy, sugar and cinnamon, and coco Joe, which is chocolate with vanilla sea salt. Connecticut mom Kathie Pelliccio got the idea to roast and season shelled pumpkin seeds as a healthy snack for her five kids. That was nine years ago. She started selling the treats at local fairs and farmers’ markets. Now Pelliccio’s crunchy savory and sweet seeds are roasted professionally and sold nationwide. Toss some in a salad or yogurt and sneak a handful for yourself. They are delicious and nutritious. Available at Foodie’s Urban Market, 1421 Washington St., Boston, 617-266-9911; Roche Bros. locations; some Shaw’s locations. ANN TRIEGER KURLAND
