What’s beyond bubbie’s kitchen? Find out on Sunday when the New Center for Arts & Culture presents its fourth annual “Beyond Bubbie’s Kitchen” tasting event ($36 per person). A “bubbie” is a Jewish grandmother, and each year local chefs present creative twists on foods that might have come out of a Jewish grandmother’s kitchen. In past years, lots of house-smoked salmon and latke variations have been involved. This year’s lineup includes foie gras matzo balls from Park restaurant, Sephardic eggplant stuffed with lamb from Taberna de Haro; pastrami knishes from Savenor’s Market; and other bubbie-inspired fare from The Fireplace, Ole, La Morra, Mei Mei Street Kitchen, and elsewhere. Geshmak, as bubbie herself might say. Delicious. Beyond Bubbie’s Kitchen will be held Jan. 27 at 5 p.m., Back Bay Events Center, 180 Berkeley St., Boston.
