You feel like you’re at Disneyland when you walk into FroyoWorld Frozen Yogurt Lounge in Allston. It’s so bright and cheery, with turquoise and fuchsia walls, and a statue of the froyo chain’s mascot, ELFY (an acronym for Everyone Loves Frozen Yogurt) greets you with open arms. The self-serve shop offers a rotating group of 16 flavors and 60 toppings. Creamy, dense swirls come in selections like cake batter, white chocolate macadamia, and caramel creme. Lighter and tangier choices include acai blueberry, taro milk tea, and lychee. Top with fresh fruits, cubes of cheesecake, turtle chocolates, brownie chunks, and chocolate or caramel sauce, among others. At 49 cents per ounce, it’s easy to build a pricey dessert. On a recent Saturday afternoon, yogurt machines were humming and the store was teeming with customers savoring their own creations. Some lounged around in the comfy, white leather booths. Co-owner Ariel Strauss says he’s happy to have people stay as long as they like, and even offers free Wi-Fi. It’s a fun place to hang out. Says Strauss, “We’re a frozen yogurt cafe.”
