Coffee from the Coffee Trike.

The Coffee Trike redefines espresso to go. At this self-contained coffee bar on wheels, owner Alessandro (“San”) Bellino dispenses shots of espresso ($2.75), mocha ($4.25) and other combinations of George Howell Coffee and Mapleline Farm milk. He pedals the cart to Dewey Square weekdays to catch South Station commuters and others in need of caffeine. “I come by for a little pick-me-up before I go to work,” says customer Andrew Holden, an information technology specialist. “The coffee chains have millions of customers.” Bellino, an Australian native with a music degree from Berklee and experience working in brick-and-mortar coffee bars, rolled his mobile concept into Dewey Square in April. “I had to order the trike from Amsterdam because nobody here knew how to build it,” he says. With a battery to power the espresso machine, a chilled compartment for milk, and an iPad point-of-sale system, Bellino needs nothing more than good weather. The Coffee Trike is at Dewey Square, Boston, Mon-Fri 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.; at the Greenway Open Market, Surface Avenue between Atlantic Avenue and High Street, Boston, Sat 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; at the SOWA Open Market,
