Don’t go to Bread + Butter in the North End expecting cannoli or biscotti. This newcomer, co-owned by pastry chef Lee Napoli and a local restaurateur, features her baked goods, the Chocolee chocolates for which she is known (her shop bearing that name is in the South End), and her husband Peter’s soups, salads, and sandwiches. One set of floor-to-ceiling windows overlooks outdoor seating and the Rose Kennedy Greenway, another faces Salem Street, where passersby can look at the chocolate station. Napoli searched for more than a year before finding the location. When she saw it, she says, “We just knew this was the spot.” Bread + Butter, 64 Cross St., North End, Boston, 617-248-6900, www.breadbutterboston.com.
