A group of Boston chefs is hosting United for Boston’s Own on April 14, a dinner to raise money for the families of Lieutenant Edward J. Walsh Jr. and Firefighter Michael R. Kennedy, who died in last month’s Back Bay fire. The chefs are Ken Oringer, Ming Tsai, Jay Hajj, Michael Schlow, Mike Smith, Ting Yen, Jamie Bissonnette, Michael Scelfo, and Monica Glass, each of whom will prepare one of the nine courses for the dinner. “At times like this, I’m honored, along with others in the restaurant community, to rally together and support these families,” says Oringer, of Clio, Toro, and Coppa. Sixty seats will be sold at $500 each. Because the chefs are donating their time and resources, all proceeds will go to the Lieutenant Walsh - Firefighter Kennedy Memorial Fund. United for Boston’s Own dinner will be held April 14 at 7 p.m. at Mike’s City Diner, 1714 Washington St., Boston. Tickets at www.eventbrite.com; search for “United for Boston’s Own.”
