Creamier, richer hummus made with avocado

Spicy Avocado Hummus ($4.99 for 8.5 ounces) brings a bold taste to the Middle Eastern classic. It contains the usual chickpeas, blended with avocado, tahini, olive oil, jalapenos, and spices. Avocado makes the spread extra rich and especially smooth. Made by Hope Foods of Boulder, Colo., the hummus also comes in original and Thai coconut curry. The company, which will introduce a sriracha version in May, was founded by five friends who create nutritious products that are organic, gluten-free, and vegan. One smooth spread that everyone can eat. Available at Harvest Co-op Market, 3815 Washington St., Jamaica Plain, 617-405-5300; Cambridge Naturals, 23 White St., Cambridge, 617-492-4452; Good Health Natural Foods, 1630 Hancock St., Quincy, 617-773-4925, or go to www.hopefoods.com .
