WHERE Temazcal Tequila Cantina in Lynnfield

WHAT Tequila libraries behind the Mexican restaurant’s host stand.

WHOSE IDEA Some libraries contain books. At Lynnfield’s Temazcal Tequila Cantina, they’re stocked with booze. The restaurant has more than 300 varieties of tequila; as such, the restaurant’s management wanted to show off its wares. So Sousa Design Architects designed two 12-foot, custom-made tequila libraries, immediately visible upon arriving. They’re made with stained oak, chicken wire, and wrought-iron door pulls with LED lighting, for that enticing amber glow. “There’s a wow factor,” says David Doyle, regional director of restaurants for the Cronin Group, of which Temazcal is a part. Guests can gaze at the wares and pick their pleasure; the most expensive variety is the seldom-seen Jose Cuervo 250 Aniversario, at a hefty $288 per 2-ounce shot — but there’s something for everyone, really. “We have connoisseurs who want Don Julio, but you also can’t go wrong with Patrón or Cazadores Blanco,” Doyle says.
