UMass Memorial Health Care CEO John O’Brien to retire

John G. O’Brien, 61, chief executive of UMass Memorial Health Care, said Wednesday that he will retire next January. O’Brien, who was hired in 2002, said he intended to hold the job for 10 years. He said he decided to announce his retirement now “so that the Board will have the freedom to conduct a comprehensive search for the best successor.”
