An estimated 36 million people, or 10 percent of the US population, suffer from migraine, according to the Migraine Research Foundation, a New York-based national organization that raises money for research and provides informational resources to sufferers. Three times as many women as men are afflicted. A relatively new surgical procedure related to cosmetic plastic surgery is offering relief to some of the severest cases.

Migraines in women that age could be related to hormone changes. My wife started having Optic Migraines when she started HRT. As soon as we stopped the HRT the migraines went away.
