Dr. Peter Slavin named chairman of Massachusetts Hospital Association

Dr. Peter Slavin, president of Massachusetts General Hospital, has been named chairman of the board of directors at the Massachusetts Hospital Association. Slavin will lead the board during an interesting time for the hospital group. Lawmakers are considering dueling plans to control health care costs that could have dramatically different effects on teaching hospitals and community hospitals, both represented in the association’s membership and on its executive committee.
