US bid to return salmon to Connecticut River ends

SUNDERLAND — The dream seemed tantalizingly within reach: restoring majestic Atlantic salmon to the Connecticut River, where dams had blocked the waterway so completely the overfished population became extinct.

Now, almost 50 years and more than $25 million later, the federal government is giving up on restocking the river.

How about trying to return timber wolves to the Esplanade?

Aim higher: the Dire Wolf

Simply giving up is NOT acceptable Democrats. $25 million per year is a small price to pay.

Shouldn't a typical approach be used: open a season of hunting to control the invasive population of humans who are devastating the environment, not just decimating the salmon, but many other of natures balances?

You're kidding, I hope. Did you know that Adolf Hitler and the Nazis were committed to animal rights. They protected animals but murdered millions of fellow human beings.
