Denis C. Bustin has joined Mount Auburn Hospital as vice president of development. Bustin started in the role Sept. 10. He was senior managed director of development at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he had worked since 2001.

Bustin studied government at Harvard University and has a master’s degree in political economy from the University of Texas in Dallas. He also has worked in development at Boston University and at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. He lives in Milton.

Jeanette Clough, the hospital’s chief executive, called Bustin “a strong and proven leader who will drive the development department forward to the next level of success.”
