Neurologists from Boston hospitals and around the country are calling on the federal government to reverse a decision to cut payments for certain diagnostic tests, saying the change will undermine patient care. The cuts were made under a provision of the Affordable Care Act aimed at eliminating overpayment in Medicare billing and redirecting money to primary care physicians whose responsibilities grow substantially under the national health care overhaul but who are widely seen as underpaid.
