The following are some recent examples of overhead or “facility’’ fees charged by hospitals for routine doctors’ appointments. The fees listed represent the portion paid by patients and do not include costs covered by insurer.

Routine physical that included blood work

Internist’s fee: None.

Newton-Wellesley Hospital outpatient fee: More than $200.

Standard 15-minute visit with nurse practitioner in dermatology

Where: Medical office building in Burlington, 1.5 miles from Lahey Clinic.

Lahey operating room and facility fee: About $600.
