Massachusetts-bred partners in comedy Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak, who have written together on “The Office” and also collaborated on the pilot for Kaling’s new show, “The Mindy Project,” are teaming up on behalf of 826LA, a writing center for kids in Los Angeles that’s just like the one here in Boston. Kaling and Novak are auctioning off a lunch with a fan — an experience that is somewhat arbitrarily valued at $5,000. The online auction closes on Friday afternoon, and last we checked, the highest bid was $3,750.
