Bruins star Milan Lucic appears to be engaged. His longtime girlfriend, Brittany Carnegie, tweeted a picture of her engagement ring earlier this week. Carnegie has long been a personality in the Bruins community, for better and worse. She got into a Twitter brawl with Vancouver player Cory Schneider’s girlfriend last season, and made headlines last year when police responded to an early-morning argument between Carnegie and Lucic that Lucic’s marketing rep said was about Carnegie’s refusal to put on shoes after she got out of a cab. Drama aside, Carnegie has been an active member of the Bruins community and helps with Bruins charities. In March, she helped the Children’s Trust Fund prepare for Child Abuse Prevention Month activities. The news of the engagement reminded us of when Lucic gave celebrity advice on the Boston.com relationship column Love Letters. He answered one letter from a woman who was desperate to marry her boyfriend, a guy who happened to have a very demanding career. Lucic told her, sheepishly, “I’m a little bit in the same situation,” adding, that if a couple lives together, “To me there’s no difference if you’re married or not. . .” Of course, that was back in 2010. And Lucic admitted at the time that he was “very young.”
