“The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess,” which became a Broadway hit and Tony Award-winner after debuting at the American Repertory Theater last year, will end its run on Sept. 23. The Diane Paulus -directed production started previews in New York last December, which means that it will have been on Broadway longer than any other run of a production of “Porgy.” First lady Michelle Obama went to see the show over the weekend. . . . A release date has been set for “Lincoln,” the Steven Spielberg film based on “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln,” by local historian Doris Kearns Goodwin. The movie, which stars Daniel Day-Lewis as Lincoln, will open Nov. 9. The screenplay was co-written by Tony Kushner , who was just honored by the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown.
