Sure, DJ Skeet Skeet had a career before Katy Perry, but now he’s got a successful career. Friday, the Iowa native who spun for Katy on her never-ending “California Dreams” tour – the one chronicled in the pop singer’s new concert film – will do his thing at Bond, the restaurant/bar at the Langham Hotel. “I was doing well on the rave and house circuit, but now, after touring with Katy, I have 13-year-old girls flirting with me on Facebook,” said Skeet (inset), who’s 26 and was friends with Perry when she was still an unknown songwriter in LA. What does he think of DJ culture these days, when seemingly every celebrity is trying their hand at the turntable? (We’re talking to you, Paris Hilton and Pauly D.) “It used to be that you had to own the records to define your sound, but with digital technology, you can download anything,” he said. “It’s like NASCAR now. Everyone has the same car, it’s how you drive it.” Skeet then took a shot at dilettante DJs. “If you want to hang out with Pauly D and hear a bunch of bad music, more power to you,” he said. “But if want to feel some stuff in your soul, come to my show.”
