Nantucket benefit for new Jay Craven film

Gene Mahon

Actor Chris Noth, the Schmidt Foundation’s Wendy Schmidt, director Jay Craven, Angela Raynor of the Pearl restaurant, and journalist David Kuhn.

“The Good Wife” star Chris Noth — a.k.a. Big from “Sex and the City” and Detective Mike Logan from “Law & Order” — traveled to Nantucket over the weekend to support director Jay Craven’s new film, “Northern Borders,” and the Dreamland Theater’s Media Lab. Noth not only attended a cocktail reception and dinner to raise money for his old pal Craven, but also took part in a “20 Questions” activity that had him fielding questions from the audience. Guests at the benefit included Nantucket regular David Gregory, journalist David Kuhn (who led the Q&A), Fidelity’s Abby Johnson and her husband, Christopher McKown, Wendy Schmidt of the Schmidt Family Foundation (as in Eric Schmidt, of Google), and Starwood Capital chairman Barry Sternlicht. In case you’re wondering, “Northern Borders” is about a boy sent to live on his grandparents’ farm in Vermont in 1956. It’s based on the novel by Vermont author Howard Frank Mosher.
