Now that Steve Carell is finished shooting “The Way, Way Back” in Wareham and Marshfield, he’s promoting his summer comedy, “Hope Springs,” in which he stars as a couples therapist opposite Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones. Carell appeared with Streep and Jones on Sunday at the Apple Store SoHo in New York for a “Meet the Filmmakers” event. On Monday, Carell was named among the celebs who will appear on the upcoming season of “Sesame Street.” Other Boston favorites on the list include Cambridge guy Casey Affleck (right), his “Gone Baby Gone” costar Amy Ryan, and “The Town” star Jon Hamm, who will soon star in Larry David’s HBO project to be filmed on the North Shore.
