The legendary Earvin “Magic” Johnson — whose 53d birthday is on Tuesday — was at the Boys & Girls Club of Providence’s Fox Point Clubhouse with his former coach Pat Riley on Monday to talk to kids about his own Boys & Girls Club experience. Johnson also led a game of trivia and wound up giving the kids $400 in prizes for correct answers. Johnson is in town to help Rhode Island native and “Stay With Me Tonight” singer Jeffrey Osborne with his first Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic golf tournament at the Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth. The Boys & Girls Club of Providence is one of the event’s beneficiaries.
