Spike Lee to take on ‘Porgy and Bess’?

Martha’s Vineyard regular Spike Lee wants to make his own film adaptation of “Porgy and Bess,” according to Indywire.com’s The Playlist. No word on whether his film would be inspired by the revival of “The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess,” which had its premiere at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, but Lee is a fan of the Tony-winning production. Lee is out promoting his latest film, “Red Hook Summer.”
