It doesn’t have the big-name cast of “Grown Ups 2,” but “The House Across the Street,” which director Arthur Luhn was lensing in Hanover this week, has a few familiar faces. The indie thriller stars Julia Roberts’s brother Eric as a cop, and veteran character actor Alex Rocco as his stepfather. Rocco, a Somerville native, is perhaps most famous for playing Vegas casino owner Moe Greene in “The Godfather,” and for his voice work on “The Simpsons.” Boston actor/director Dickie Skinz, who’s been helping with the production of “The House Across the Street,” told us it was a special treat to meet Rocco. “A real class guy,” said Skinz. “ ‘The Godfather’ is the greatest movie ever and I’m a huge ‘Simpsons’ fan, so it was pretty cool to hang out with him.” (Skinz, by the way, just finished directing “Hurricane Chasers,” which he describes as
“ ‘Stand by Me’ meets ‘Twister’ except on the ocean.”) “The House Across the Street” is slated for a 2013 release. . . . Bruin Milan Lucic
was on Mix 104.1 Friday and revealed that he and wife
Brittany Carnegie are expecting a baby girl. . . . WEEI morning man John Dennis
dropped by the Marlborough Community Cupboard this week to fill some backpacks as part of the United Way of Tri-County’s “Toolz for School” program. . . . Bruin Shawn Thornton
, WAAF’s Greg Hill
, and Winter Wyman Companies chief executive Bob Boudreau
joined kids at Franciscan Hospital for Children for an ice cream sundae party this week.
