More than 350 people attended the first SummerFeast at Haley House in Dudley Square on Saturday afternoon. The celebration was billed as a gospel jamboree, and featured a Jerk Chicken Cook-off Contest in the restaurant’s parking lot. VIP judges who evaluated the chicken included Darnell Williams of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts, Rose Arruda of the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources, and Darryl Settles, of Darryl’s Corner Bar. Pepper Pot restaurant in Dudley won the all-around prize for best jerk chicken. The “people’s choice” award went to Haley House’s Audley Mills, who entered his own private recipe.
