Congrats to former Red Sox All-Star Kevin Youkilis and his wife, Julie Brady, on the birth of their first child. Youk, who was traded to the Chicago White Sox earlier this season, was out of the lineup for three days while he and Tom Brady’s sister awaited the baby boy’s arrival. It’s the first child for Youk and the second for Brady. . . . The Maine Center for Creativity on Thursday will honor “Fatal Attraction” actress Glenn Close and her husband, Idexx Laboratories founder David Shaw , for their “contributions to Maine’s creative economy.” Generous benefactors, the couple own a spectacular home in Scarborough, not far from the Winslow Homer Studio.
