Jennifer Thompson-Cannino and Ronald Cotton, who wrote the book “Picking Cotton,” were the featured speakers at Wheelock College’s convocation this week. Their book is about Thompson-Cannino’s painful realization that she misidentified Cotton as her rapist, a crime for which he served more than a decade in prison. The pair have become friends since Cotton’s release, and they now work together to speak out about DNA testing for crimes. Joining the convocation speakers were Suffolk University Law Professor Kim McLaurin and Wheelock College President Jackie Jenkins-Scott.
