Folks at Boston University and the Berklee College of Music confirmed to us on Tuesday that South Korean rapper Psy, whose “Gangnam Style” video has been viewed more than 200 million times on YouTube, did, in fact, attend their schools more than a decade ago. Colin Riley, a BU spokesman, says that Psy (who’s real name is Park Jae-sang) studied English there for one semester in 1997. “No one remembers him at this point,” Riley added of the musician, who had a big performance on “Today” last week and made a cameo on “Saturday Night Live.” Margot Edwards, of Berklee, said that Psy studied there between 1997 and 2000. He apparently didn’t declare a major but took classes in voice and clarinet. Psy recently signed with Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun, so if you haven’t heard of him yet, you probably will soon.
