Playwright Terrence McNally was in Boston Monday night to receive the ACLU’s Beacon of Liberty Award at the Taj Boston. The night was hosted by Playbill, the City of Boston, and the Fiddlehead Theatre, which begins a run of McNally’s “Ragtime” at the Strand in Dorchester on Sept. 28.
