A Renaissance man Matt Damon is not. The Cambridge-bred actor has many talents but cooking isn’t one of them. “I suck. I suck,” Damon told reporters at this week’s CookingLive! fund-raiser benefiting the Family Reach Foundation. (The group helps families whose children have cancer.) “Growing up, our mother used to make us cook one night a week. I would try to manipulate my way out of it. But she was pretty good about making us do it. Beef Stroganoff was my signature dish.” At the event in New York, the “Bourne” star donned chef whites and assisted celebrity chefs Ming Tsai and Mario Batali. Damon said he got involved at the suggestion of his brother Kyle, who’s tight with Family Reach Foundation executive director Carla Tardif.
