Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have another new project in the works, and this one doesn’t involve Whitey Bulger. The buddies, who are already working on a Bulger biopic, are set to produce “Race to the South Pole,” a true story of two explorers in the early 1900s attempting to be the first person to reach the South Pole. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Casey Affleck will play Englishman Robert Falcon Scott, one of the two explorers. (Norwegian Roald Amundsen was the other.) At the moment, Affleck is focused on “Argo,” which will be released next month, while Damon just wrapped work on Gus Van Sant’s “Promised Land.”
