‘Stranglehold’ screening at Boston Film Festival

JOSH REYNOLDS FOR THE BOSTON GLOBE

Sudbury and Boston’s own Captain America, actor Chris Evans (left), was at the Revere Hotel’s Theatre 1 on Monday night to support director Myles Jewell (right) at the Boston Film Festival screening of “Stranglehold: In the Shadow of the Boston Strangler.” Evans’s voice is featured in the film. Jewell explained on the red carpet that Evans got involved with the movie because he and Evans grew up down the street from each other. Evans was quick to walk the red carpet Monday night and didn’t do any interviews, but he was expected to take part in a Q&A with Jewell after the screening. BFF organizers and VIP talent were expected to attend a Closing Night party at Rustic Kitchen after the evening’s screenings. The other Monday-night film was “Free Throw,” Court Crandall’s documentary about his free throw shooting competition for kids in Compton, Calif. Crandall is from Winchester, went to the University of New Hampshire, and was also one of the writers of the movie
“Old School.”
