Dee Dee Myers was the first woman to serve as White House press secretary — she held the post for the initial two years of the Clinton administration — but if you think she misses the job, you’re crazy. “Oh no, it’s a lot easier to opine from the sidelines,” says Myers, who was at Phillips Academy, Andover, on Thursday as part of the prep school’s lecture series giving students differing perspectives on hot-button issues. (Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, an Andover alum, is up next.) After leaving the White House, Myers wrote a best-selling book, “Why Women Should Rule The World,” so we asked her to weigh in on the senate race between Republican Scott Brown and Democrat Elizabeth Warren. Predictably, she thinks Warren will win because she’s “earned her stripes as a reformer” while Brown “isn’t as moderate as he might appear.” Myers, meanwhile, was impressed with the Andover students. “They were informed and engaged,” she said. “They did know and they did care and they weren’t reaching for easy answers. And that was nice to see.”
