Students in Jonathan Wacks’s “Directing the Feature Film” class at Emerson College visited the set of Larry David’s HBO movie “Clear History” in Essex on Monday. They got to spend hours with the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star and director Greg Mottola, whose credits include “Superbad” and “Adventureland.” They also got to meet “There’s Something About Mary” director Peter Farrelly, who has a small role in “Clear History.” Wacks’s student Peter Horgan, a 22-year-old from Yarmouth, said Farrelly was gracious with his time and talked to the class about writing scripts and selling projects. Horgan was also psyched to meet some of David’s funny costars, specifically Danny McBride, of “Eastbound & Down,” “who I think is one of the funniest people in the world,” Horgan said. “I was ecstatic to meet him.” Horgan also watched “Gone Baby Gone” actress Amy Ryan do some improv on set. David, Mottola, and the “Clear History” crew are scheduled to film in Essex — at Woodman’s and J.T. Farnham’s — through Thursday. The movie also stars Jon Hamm, Kate Hudson, and Eva Mendes.
Quite the field trip for Emerson film students
