Actress Annette Miller, who was honored at last weekend’s Boston Jewish Film Festival gala, joined Councilor Mike Ross, Ted Reinstein of “Chronicle,” and Tufts drama professor Barbara Grossman at the New Center for Art and Culture’s program “The Promised Land,” which was described as “a theatrical evening chronicling the stories of the city’s early Jewish pioneers.” The evening at Temple Israel included a cocktail reception and a look at plans for an immigration history center at Temple Ohabei Shalom Cemetery in East Boston. Guests included Jim Miller, founder of Fire + Ice, Jonathan Sarna, professor of American Jewish history at Brandeis University, and Francine Achbar, executive director of the New Center.
