Grammy winner Diane Schuur performed at the event, held at the Charles Hotel, and the “TV Diner” duo Billy Costa and Jenny Johnson emceed. . . . Former Celtics big man Shaquille O’Neal is coming back to Boston. No, the 7-footer won’t be suiting up for the C’s. He’s bringing his “All-Star Comedy Jam” to the Wilbur Nov. 16, with a lineup that includes the lovely DJ Spinderella, host Gary Owen, Tony Roberts, and Finesse Mitchell. . . . Keep an eye out for Jimmy Fallon on this weekend’s “Ask This Old House.” (The show airs Saturday at 5:30 p.m. on WGBH 2.) Jimmy will join host Kevin O’Connor and the rest of the gang for the “What Is It?” segment. . . . Sox slugger David Ortiz celebrated his new two-year contract with dinner at Red Lantern.
