Newton actor John Krasinski told us after the Boston screening of his movie “Promised Land” last week that as of Monday, he’d be out on the road promoting the drama, which he co-wrote with another local guy, Matt Damon. Monday’s event wound up being the 22d Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards, which Krasinski attended with his wife, Emily Blunt, as well as Damon and Damon’s wife, Luciana Barroso. Damon was given a career achievement award that night, as was “The Fighter” director David O. Russell, whose latest release is “Silver Linings Playbook,” based on the book by Massachusetts writer Matthew Quick. The evening’s award for best film went to Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom,” which was filmed around Rhode Island last year. Andover actress Kara Hayward, whose starring role in “Moonrise” was her film debut, was in New York for the ceremony. “Moonrise” and “Silver Linings” each wound up getting five Independent Spirit Award nominations on Tuesday. . . . Speaking of Hayward, we notice that her resume is growing. According to the Internet Movie Database, she’s on the cast list for the upcoming film “The Sisterhood of Night,” based on a story by Steven Millhauser. Hayward also narrated the audiobook for the fall release “The Blessed,” which was written by “ghostgirl” author Tonya Hurley.
