Author Joseph Finder takes USO tour of Middle East

Local author Joseph Finder (above right), whose novel “Paranoia” is being turned into a movie starring

Liam Hemsworth, has returned from the “Operation Thriller III” USO tour with some pretty cool pictures.

He joined other genre writers — including Kathleen Antrim (“Capital Offense”), Michael Connelly (“The Lincoln Lawyer”), Brad Meltzer (“The Zero Game”), and Andy Harp (“Northern Thunder’’) — on the USO journey to four countries in the Middle East, where they did readings, answered questions, and mingled with troops. Finder even got to try on a fire proximity suit, also known as a silver bunker suit. The writers took the trip earlier this month. This photo was shot by Connelly.
