Rex Trailer saddles up for ‘Cowboy Spirit’ premiere

“Cowboy Spirit,” the locally produced film that costars Senator Scott Brown’s daughter Ayla as an aspiring country singer, debuted this week at the Orpheum Theatre in Foxborough. (Directed by Bill Miller, “Cowboy Spirit” is the story of a young man who helps save the life of a girl using lessons he learned from his grandfather, a former champion rodeo cowboy.) Making a special appearance at the sold-out screening was Rex Trailer, star of the popular children’s TV show “Rex Trailer’s Boomtown.” Asked afterward how he liked the film, the 84-year-old Trailer, who knows a thing or two about cowboys, smiled. “It was great,” he said. “I loved it.”
