Celebs gathered in the Dominican Republic over the weekend for the David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic, a benefit for the David Ortiz Children’s Fund. Familiar faces at the event included former NESN personality and future MLB Network reporter Heidi Watney; Lexington funny lady Rachel Dratch; Blue Ginger chef Ming Tsai; former Red Sox teammates Pedro Martinez, Kevin Millar, Tim Wakefield, and Johnny Damon; Sox pitcher Clayton Mortensen; comedian Lenny Clarke; Cleveland manager Terry Francona; Needham Olympian Aly Raisman, and actor Sam Page, who played Greg opposite Christina Hendricks’s Joan on “Mad Men.” The event raised more than $200,000 for Ortiz’s charity, which helps pay for pediatric care in New England and the Dominican. Auction items included a lunch with Watney, which went for almost $10,000; tickets to a taping of “Saturday Night Live” (donated by New Hampshire’s Seth Meyers), which went for $13,000; and a private gymnastics lesson with Raisman, which went for more than $9,000. Raisman volunteered to give Oritz’s daughter Alexandra her own private lesson after finding out that Ortiz had hoped to win the item for her but was out-bid at the last minute.
