Boston was well represented at Art Basel Miami Beach. The AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts hosted a cocktail party poolside at the Ritz-Carlton, and guests included Bill Emery, Jeffrey and Suzanne Bloomberg, Bryan Rafanelli and Mark Walsh, deCordova director Dennis Kois, artist Rachel Perry Welty, Ciara Hunt Francis, and Ashley Bernon, among others. . . . Documentary filmmakers Steve Ascher and his wife, Jeanne Jordan, whose credits include the Academy Award-nominated “Troublesome Creek” and “Raising Renee,” celebrated the updated edition of Ascher’s book, “The Filmmaker’s Handbook,” with a party at Harvard’s Carpenter Center. Guests included Harvard professor and filmmaker Alfred Guzzetti, Cambridge mayor Henrietta Davis, and Susanne Simpson, a senior producer of WGBH’s “Masterpiece.” . . . Joni Lee Rossi, of Back Bay Staffing Group (formerly CQ Personnel), celebrated the company’s 25th anniversary Saturday. The party included a screening of Rossi’s reality show, “You’re Hired,” which she filmed over the summer. (Rossi is now shopping it to networks). Guests included event planner AJ Williams (who appears in the show), Sherri Raftery and Meredith Bryan of the Home for Little Wanderers; and local singer Caitlin Timmins. Actor Mark Wahlberg and his kids were invited down on the field before the Pats game Monday night against the Texans; they were also invited to watch Tom Brady and the boys from Pats owner Robert Kraft’s box. . . . A shout-out to PR types Christian and Courtney Megliola on the birth of their first baby, a girl, Savannah Elizabeth, who weighed in at an impressive 8 pounds and 12 ounces.
