British actor Tom Hardy, who’s perhaps best known for playing the super-villain Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises,” is in talks to star in the upcoming crime drama “Animal Rescue,” according to Deadline.com. The movie, about a man who wants to shed his criminal past but gets mixed up in a killing involving a pit bull, is based on a short story by “Mystic River” author Dennis Lehane, who also wrote the script. Possibly joining the cast is Noomi Rapace, who appeared in “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.”
