Red Sox designated slugger David Ortiz visited with patients at MassGeneral Hospital for Children this week, spreading holiday cheer as he signed autographs and posed for photos with kids. The visit was part of a package auctioned to the Achtmeyer family during the Storybook Ball, the annual fund-raiser for the hospital. . . . Ken Casey and the rest of the boys in the Dropkick Murphys paid a visit to Franciscan Hospital for Children Thursday, performing a show for patients, delivering toys, and presenting a $10,000 check from the Claddagh Fund. . . . We’ll be seeing more of Steven Sinofsky, the Microsoft muckety-muck who recently departed after running the Windows division for six years. Sinofsky tweeted this week that he’ll teach at Harvard Business School this spring. In response to a question on Twitter, Sinofsky said he plans to teach “product development.”
