Matt Damon continues to speak candidly about his hometown friends while promoting his new movie, “Promised Land,” which he co-wrote with Newton’s John Krasinski . Damon tells the New York Post in a Q&A on Sunday, of his pal Ben Affleck, “I was a believer when we were taking the Amtrak from Boston to New York to audition for ‘The Mickey Mouse Club’ when we were 17 and 15 years old. I was the guy sitting next to him saying, “You’re great! You’re going to make it.” I bought the stock very low.” . . . Krasinski, meanwhile, has been spotted vacationing in Cabo San Lucas with his wife, Emily Blunt, and friends Jennifer Aniston and Jimmy Kimmel. Not a bad way to ring in the new year.
