Browne, Spalding will play Tanglewood

The Boston Symphony Orchestra will announce some big summer events at Tanglewood on Tuesday. Jackson Browne will play the venue for the first time in 15 years on July 4. Grammy-winning Berklee College of Music star Esperanza Spalding will also visit Tanglewood on Aug. 4. Other Tanglewood concerts that we’re particularly excited about include a BSO performance of the score of “West Side Story” while the film airs on large screens (that’s July 13), and Emmanuel Music’s
July 11 performance of John Harbison ’s opera “The Great Gatsby,” which celebrates the composer’s 75th birthday. We’ll have seen the Jay-Z -scored, Baz Luhrmann -directed Gatsby movie by then. (It is set to be released in May.)
