A shout-out to sisters Kelly Mackin and Erin Erler, co-owners of Haverhill-based Cakes by Erin. Erler was part of a team that won the confection contest on Sunday’s episode of Food Network’s “Sugar Dome.” (The show pits teams of cake designers, sugar artists, and specialty craftspeople in a series of challenges to create the ultimate sugary showpiece.) Kelly and Erin threw a viewing party at the Hard Rock Cafe, and more than 100 of their friends and family members attended. (Yes, they served cupcakes.) “It was so exciting, but Erin was under contract not to tell anyone she’d won,” Mackin said Monday. The event was also a fund-raiser. Actor Adam Sandler, who’d become a fan of Cakes by Erin while shooting “Grown Ups 2” last summer, donated a prop from his film “Bedtime Stories,” and its was auctioned Sunday to benefit Boston Children’s Hospital. . . . Actress Andrea Martin and Nathan Lane stopped into Grafton Street after a weekend performance of the ART production of “Pippin.” . . . Meanwhile, at UpStairs on the Square, former Mason Robert chef Andree Robert and husband Tom Burger dined with pianist Wendy Chen, who was in town for a sold-out performance Sunday at Rockport’sShalin Liu Performing Arts Center. After the show, Robert hosted a party for Chen that included UpStairs on the Square owner Mary-Catherine Deibel and her husband, Reid Fleming, Longy School of Music of Bard College president Karen Zorn, Mason Robert founders Lucien and Ann Robert, and Garth Greimann of Berkshire Partners.
